Senior Backend Engineer

About this role

You will design and ship domain modules on our Python 3.12 / FastAPI / PostgreSQL platform. You will work on the public API, multi-tenant security, and the services that serve revenue teams across India, UAE, and globally. This is a high-autonomy role: you own your module end-to-end from design doc to production deployment.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and own one or more of the 18 domain modules (CRM, Comms, AI, Billing, Analytics).
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs consumed by our web apps and third-party integrations.
• Contribute to API authentication, rate limiting, and routing.
• Implement zero-trust security patterns: access control, tenant isolation, and encryption.
• Write and maintain tests to meet the three-layer test pyramid (unit, integration, E2E) and ≥80% coverage gate.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and CI pipeline maintenance.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of backend engineering with Python (FastAPI or Django REST Framework).
• Production experience with PostgreSQL — schema design, query optimisation, migrations.
• Solid understanding of API design, REST semantics, and authentication (JWT, OAuth 2.0).
• Experience with Redis (caching / pub-sub) and async task queues (Celery or similar).
• Comfortable with Docker, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture and data isolation.
• Familiarity with API gateway configuration.
• Exposure to WhatsApp Business API or Meta Graph API.
